The Teacher Training Staff are as diverse as the teachers on the regular class schedule. Theresa Gagnon being the grand Poohbah (always have a sense of humor) decided to mix up the lesson and introduce great teachers from various schools and studios, thus creating a harmonious course.
Theresa Gagnon founder of Yoga Source and a passionate teacher of yoga will guide you from the beginning of your 200 hour program here at yoga Source right to the cottage week where the group bonds and learns more about the key principles to living your life and the career you want. Theresa’s hours of yoga certifications gives away her age, know that the 500 hour yoga alliance teachers is dedicated to your learning and creating space for yoga classes and jobs in the community. Jenn Pike is a registered Holistic Nutritionist and graduate of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Jen is in her seventh year of practice and as a holistic practitioner, Jen’s goal is to infuse clients with equal parts information, motivation and life-changing action to help achieve their true potential in mind, body and spirit. Jen teaches the ‘Balanced Eating, Lifestyle & Movement’ principles to create the fundamental foundation of health. Jen is also a certified Personal Trainer Specialist, Medical Exercise Specialist, RYT 200 Yoga and Stott-trained Pilate’s instructor.” Balanced Living is not about perfection or idealism, it’s about progress.”
Caroline Dupont, our special treat in music, meditation and chakras. She has been living and teaching an integrated approach to health for over 20 years. She is the author of the book and DVD Enlightened Eating, and several meditation CD’s, teaches nutrition,meditation and yoga, and offers private consultations, various courses and retreats
Michael Siddall, the Anusara instructor of our community. Michael’s busy schedule keeps him on his toes between owning and working Yoga Plus in Toronto and Richmond Hill. Michael is successful in assisting teachers to deepen their practice and honour the body by using the principles of alignment founded in the Anusara School, which was created by John Friend. Michael teaches segments of our training program and will be teaching the Anusara Immersion program here at Yoga Source. This is an additional course for teachers who wish to enhance their skills and move toward teaching Anusara yoga.
Lynn Duncan-Smith, has practiced as a Registered Massage Therapist for nine years, with the past two years at Yoga Source and Therapy Studio. She has taught massage therapy at Everest College for the past three years. Lynn is a runner, has studied martial arts and has a physically demanding occupation. All of which has made her appreciate the benefits of yoga, which she has been practicing for several years. Lynn completed her Teacher’s Training in July 2009 and has been teaching yoga in York Region since that time. Lynn will be teaching the anatomy portion of the October 2009 Teacher’s Training Course.
